Privacy policy

OwedList ("we") runs owedlist.com and the OwedList iOS app. This page says what we collect and why. We never ask for your social security number, address, or bank details, and we never file a claim for you.

What we collect

Quiz answers. Your yes/no answers, plus the optional gender, age range, and "how you heard about us" answers, stay in your browser until you enter an email at checkout or subscribe. If you enter an email and don't finish paying, we keep that email and your answers so we can send your results and a link back. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link. When you pay, your answers are saved with your subscription so we can email you matching settlements.

SMS: If you opt in, we text you about your results and offers. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties for marketing.

Payment. Stripe processes your payment. We store your email, Stripe customer id, subscription id, plan, and the amount paid. We never see or store your card number.

Usage. We record anonymous events (which step you reached, which plan you picked) tied to a random id stored in your browser, plus the link you arrived from. We use this to see where the quiz loses people. We use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure ads. Microsoft Clarity records sessions of the quiz; emails are masked.

The iOS app. If you allow tracking, the app shares the advertising identifier and purchase events with Meta to measure ads. You can decline, and the app still works. Purchases in the app are processed by Apple.

Who we share it with

Stripe (payments), Apple (app purchases), Twilio (texts), Resend (email), Neon (database), Vercel (hosting), Clerk (admin sign-in), Meta (ad measurement), and Microsoft Clarity (session recordings). Each processes data only to provide its service. We do not sell your information.

How long we keep it

Subscription records stay while your subscription is active and for as long as we need them for tax and refund records afterward. Usage events are deleted within 24 months. You can ask us to delete your data at any time at hello@owedlist.com.
